As a tall man who has traveled sometimes, I know all too well about the struggle of having someone in front of you bashing your legs over and over. When you’re 6’6″ like I am, you tend to have to interact with the person because they will try to recline and it’ll evolve into them bashing your legs over and over thinking the recline function just needs some encouragement when in reality your legs are blocking it.
In a post I found on Reddit, there was a person that’s the OP (original poster for newbies here) and they were wanting to recline. After trying to do so, the guy behind the OP asks if the person could just keep their seat up because they’re too tall at 6 foot 8 and would prefer the OP not do that.

Well, OP decides to not bash their legs further, yet they do tell the tall man to pick a different arrangement for their seating next time because this inconveniences several other people on the flight. The tall man just said they usually make it better for him with seating that’s a bit more accommodating but this time around it didn’t work out.
The OP is now wondering if they were an a-hole for confronting the tall man. What’s interesting about these replies is that most people replying actually say the OP is the a-hole in this instance. Usually in these conversations about reclining, most say that the person reclining is in the right and that we shouldn’t have to accommodate anyone that’s big, tall, or a mix of both.
