Learning To Accept The Technology Of Kids — Is TikTok Safe?

I hear a lot about how people just hate their kids’ technology and as a kid that came up during the rise of the internet, I know how it feels to be that kid. My perspective is that the internet is like a drug, especially short form content, so moderation is key.

Why should we learn more about what our kids use online? Because it will be the future, whether you like it or not. You have to learn about what they are doing so if it’s anything crazy like donating to some weird creator or something behind your back, you know about it.

In my opinion, TikTok is being used by some kids as white noise to help them calm down from stress. But if limits are not set on such things and the content isn’t educational, there are certain rabbit holes they could go down. One example are the toxic alpha male channels that encourage abuse of others. That kind of thing is not a good idea to encourage, as it leads eventually to prison.

There is still a lot of research to do regarding this kind of thing since it’s still relatively new, but I have been using the internet long enough to know that these algorithms are manipulating people. For instance, on Facebook they base what you see on the time of year it is trying to game your moods and see what happens. It’s very nefarious and frankly I think it should be illegal.

Real quick I wanted to mention that this fidget toy is AMAZING for kids, especially those with ADHD. It's also nice for adults as I have several. Click the underlined text to see it They work great in public, too, as they are pretty quiet. https://amzn.to/4kXrPqC *I get a kickback if you buy anything on Amazon after clicking these links, so feel free to keep this open in a new tab for later*

I also believe we are all training AI by using social media, as in it is watching and processing everything we say so that it can learn how to speak like us and how our emotions work. If you think that you are not being brainwashed, I think we will learn soon that we are. It’s just like the news, where they play on things like fear and hatred, both of which stop your evolution as a human.

I have had experiences with drugs and alcohol and everything else so I know how addiction works. These days people aren’t able to take a break, there is the internet in their pocket now which is a good thing in some ways but it’s also a very dangerous thing to take to an extreme. I do it and so do most people nowadays.

Why Do Kids Use TikTok?

One thing white noise like TikTok helps with is to deal with PTSD. The randomness is helping people to forget for a while. TikTok is addictive for kids for that reason, as many people don’t even know they can traumatize their kids if they bully them all the time. Sounds dumb, but really if you think about it they are using it as a form of escapism from the home they’re in.

If you are concerned about your child using TikTok, perhaps it’s time to spend time with them instead. I know we all are being forced to do work for companies for money or whatever but the end result of working too much are angry kids that eventually turn to substance abuse, especially if they are not being medicated for their mental health.

Without the right nutrition you can actually give yourself a mental problem. With drugs, the same applies. I will get into it in another post but all chemicals have their place in the world. However, if you take them to an extreme your brain will glitch out until you get into better shape. There’s no way around it but your brain is important to keep in good shape if you want to be a healthy person.

Does TikTok give people mental problems? I’m not sure quite yet but probably, especially if they take it to an extreme. Before you get mad about it, consider that this isn’t THEIR fault. They are kids. Get over it and figure out a better approach before they inherit your flaws and never have a normal life again.

A good start would be some multivitamins for kids. Here’s a link to some to support the site, they are only 7.99 and gummies so they should be easy to get kids to cooperate with taking: https://amzn.to/4hEVGB7 *always speak with a doctor if you have concerns, and always read a review or two in case something happens and the product changes over time.*

Wow! I have no clue who you are except in name. I LOVE how well written this is. You’ve articulated well!!!!!
And you are spot on. In a world that has seemingly gone crazy, perhaps it is technically that has done this to our “free” society.
As to the gummies, whether a parent or a single person, we should all remember the importance of label reading. Most gummies have sugar in them. That’s why I stopped using hemp gummies for sleep. I now use hemp in capsule form. I hope you get many warm responses and not bullied.
By the way, we are probably several generations apart but I can apply your post even to us older folks. God bless you!!!!😁

Hey, I hope the higher power/God blesses you as well. I have been writing since I was 6 because I got bullied since I grew so rapidly and was so skinny due to being autistic and picky.

I really appreciate the kind words, and sugar free multivitamins for kids are likely the way to go. Some people do need a tad bit of sugar though and I also think if a kid is picky it’s better than nothing.

Have a blessed Sunday and thanks for stopping by!
