I have used so many controllers and arcade stick devices playing fighting games that I think I do have an advantage as a larger person with things like how far my fingers reach and things of that nature. But I also know they make most stuff to fit for people of average size so really the only controller I’ve seen sized properly for extremely big hands may be something like the OG XBox with that first giant controller.
Anyway, with arcade sticks and such it is easy for your hands to wear out fast especially if you type a lot and use your hands a lot in general. So you will eventually need to have grip training stuff you can do. I personally use these (Click here for Amazon Link To Under $20 Dollar Set) and another set but mainly I get good results with those.
And here is what they look like, from the Amazon page itself:

Wanted to mention most stuff I share here I’ve used or have seen being used or something of that nature. Or if it’s clothing it is something I’d buy or wear if I don’t have it already. But I think it’s important for gamers that are larger in any way to keep their hands in mind because in the future as you do any kind of work if your hands start to hurt all the time it can make things rough.
A lot of fighting games do require a bit of training to have fun at though. And many that wouldn’t train their hands definitely wouldn’t like these kinds of games. But if you like things like chess, I suggest fighting games as they can both be played at multiple levels and include things like learning opponents and thinking a few moves ahead and what may happen. Fighting games generally try to keep up with the times though and they have introduced new control schemes and such so you can get a feel for the rhythm and how things work first.
My personal game with the most time on a current console is likely Street Fighter 6 but I’ve played every other game of this type even if it sucks a bit. My least favorite fighting game that’s huge is likely Mortal Kombat and it’s mainly because the systems in it are not for me I guess. They look cool sure, but I didn’t have as much fun with Mortal Kombat on SNES as something like Killer Instinct.
I am not sure much of my audience yet is gamers or nerdy at all so I hope to get back into clothing and such but I mainly wanted to share the hand exercise things even if they’re not a ton of money or whatever because they are extremely useful. You will also save money on crap like medicine for pain and such so it’s really a good idea to take care of hands as a taller/bigger person.
