Being Big And Tall In A World That’s Small

Do Tall Guys Tire Of Getting Asked For Things On Shelves?

By Brandon Harvey 2025
I was looking around online for a few things and found this old discussion about how tall men have people ask them all the time for help. As a tall person myself, I can say that yes I get asked as well but it’s not as common as it used to be.
These days I feel like people are way more skeptical, especially of men. However there are still at least two or three times a year while I’m out that I get asked. I hear that it can be a way to get a guy’s attention or whatever, but I usually only get asked by ladies that are obviously not interested in anything but the product.
I saw someone in the thread saying that they like to bring items forward while they are up there sometimes. I used to stock shelves and at first I used to be nice and helpful with that stuff but after a while I started to get pissed off I’m doing more and more work at the store like through that and self checkout and items are going up so why work for them like that?
Anyone that has had a tall person in their life can tell you it’s helpful but to the tall person what’s it like? I’d say it’s a mix of endearing in some cases and in others annoying. If I’m busy with something and someone is rushing me to help them I usually just indicate I don’t work there and ignore it but if they’re polite I don’t mind at all.
I appreciate everyone being here and keeping up with the blog. There are a ton of viewers all over the world and I appreciate it. I’m trying to avoid putting random ad banners on here for the time being so for now I’ll just say check out this pair of socks on Amazon that I like and have bought a ton of times for myself so I know they’re good.
